Peter A. Towne, P.T. President and Chief Executive Officer. He started the company with one office in September of 1978, after having served in several capacities at Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital for 17 years. (Staff Physical Therapist and then Director of Rehabilitation Services). He's been a physical therapist for 45 plus years. Clinical Expertise (Experience): Cervical (neck) diagnoses, Geriatric diagnoses, and Hand diagnoses. Community Involvement includes the American Heart Association, West Chester Rotary and the Hamilton Tennis Association. His National Involvement includes being current President of the International Private Practitioners Association, and past-President of the Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association for two 2-year terms. Corporation Secretary/Treasurer and Corporate Compliance Officer Sheri Poffenbarger, P.T., C.M.P. Sheri has been with Towne Physical Therapy since July of 1988, when she was a physical therapist assistant. She graduated from Sinclair Community College, where she was the recipient of the prestigious Mary McMillan Scholarship Award. She was also on the Dean's List at Sinclair. In 1995, she enrolled in the University of Findlay's physical therapy program, and graduated with honors with a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy in May of 1999. Her Clinical Expertise (Experience) includes functional capacity evaluations, TMJ dysfunction, cervical conditions and our Older Adults Program. She is also a Certified Mulligan Practitioner, specializing in the mulligan manual therapy technique. Sheri serves as the clinic director of the West Chester office. Her Community Involvement includes over a decade as a referee for high school and college volleyball games, over 20 years as a blood donor, and a long-time speaker at our schools; from the elementary school grades through high school seniors. She's also volunteered at the Towne Physical Therapy-sponsored rest stop at the Butler County Multiple Sclerosis Annual Walk for the last 10 years. Karen Kaiser Eifert, O.T. Karen joined Towne Physical Therapy in August of 2000. She is a graduate of Ohio State University and has been working in the specialty area of hand therapy since the early '80s. Her Clinical Expertise (Experience) lies in the development, expansion and management of Outpatient Hand and Upper Extremity Rehab Programs. She enjoyed working closely with physicians and plastic surgery residents in hand clinics in the past and has also developed hand protocols, hand evaluation and splint evaluation forms. She has experience as a clinical instructor at The Ohio State University lecturing on splinting and orthopedics. She has developed a carpal tunnel in-service, which she has presented to various organizations. Additionally, she has experience in an environment where physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech/language pathologists use an interdisciplinary approach. Her Community Involvement includes teaching religious education to 7th and 8th graders in a local Prep Program for the last three years. She has also been an American Occupational Therapy Association member since 1980. Sarah Cline, D.P.T., C.M.P. Sarah received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University Physical Therapy School, where she also completed the her master's program. Sarah got her undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University, where she was a member of the women's basketball team. She also spent 2 years as assistant coach for the girls varsity basketball program at Lakota West High School. Her areas of clinical expertise include sports injuries, low back, neck, and knee. She has also completed training in rehabilitation of upper cervical headache and dizziness and is working with specialists from the Cleveland Clinic. Sarah received her Mulligan Practitioner certification in 2006, specializing in the Mulligan manual therapy technique. She has been with Towne since 2000 and is the clinic director for the Fairfield office. Linda Vahlsing, P.T. Linda has a Master’s in education from the University of Kentucky and has a Bachelor’s in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia. She has work experience in home health and hospital settings. She has also worked as an administrator and started a PT program specializing in inpatient and outpatient neurology. For the past nine years she has worked in outpatient orthopedics and has specialized in spine rehabilitation. Linda also has experience performing ergonomics assessments and speaking about back care with yard work and gardening. She has been with Towne Physical Therapy since 2005. Christina Sokolek, P.T. Christina has her bachelors in Physical Therapy from Indiana University and her bachelors in Biology from Franklin College. She has over twenty years of physical therapy experience. Her areas of clinical expertise include rheumatology, rehabilitation following total joint replacement, Mckenzie techniques for the cervical spine and has been involved in quality improvement programs. Christina is active in the community with choir and plays the guitar for her church services. Cindy Murphy, P.T.A. Cindy first came to Towne Physical Therapy as a result of a work-related injury. Her personal experience with physical therapy inspired her to join us as a physical therapy aide, and she then proceeded to return to school at Sinclair Community College. She graduated with high honors with an Associates degree from their Physical Therapist Assistant Program and works for us now as a P.T.A. Her Community Involvement has included 9 years as a volunteer at our Towne-sponsored rest stop for the Annual Butler County Multiple Sclerosis Walk. Linas Stakauskas P.T.A. Linas has his Associate's degree from the University of Cincinnati. He has been with Towne since 2004. His areas of clinical expertise include posture and proprioception training with therapeutic exercise, rotator cuff rehabilitation, and low back stabilization exercise. In addition to a physical therapy assistant, Linas is a certified personal trainer and a member of the international sports science association. Jennifer Hatfield P.T.A. Jennifer is a 2005 graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s PTA program. She is skilled in postural education for reducing neck and back pain, spinal stabilization exercises, Pilates exercises and training patients to be independent in a variety of home exercises. She currently works in the Hamilton office. Jill Nauroth, P.T.A. Jill is a 2006 graduate of Sinclair Community College. Her areas of clinical expertise include modality application and therapeutic exercise. She is also skilled in patient education regarding spinal stabilization and techniques to prevent lower back pain.
Michael is a 2006 graduate of Sinclair Community College. He has extensive experience in competitive gymnastics and he currently coaches gymnastics. His areas of clinical expertise include therapeutic exercise, posture training and sports injury rehabilitation.
